A Forest of Wonders

The Lorewood is a vast magical forest growing atop the ruins of an ancient fallen empire. Troves of treasure, powerful artifacts, and more lie tangled in the roots below. The surrounding nations have established a tentative peace, but their rulers now turn their gaze to the wonders being unearthed in the forest.

Blossoming Magic

The purest form of magic are the magical plants that grow from the roots of the World Tree. These Spellblooms are highly prized as both conduits for spells and components for potions and magical items. And no other place in the world is as overgrown with magic as the Lorewood.

Roots Run Deep

Greater than gold are the relics of the Age of Wonders. Legends speak of flying cities, titanic golems, and spells that pulled the stars from the heavens. Yet such tales pale in comparison to the myths of the Elder Days when the gods walked the earth. The Roots of history twist through every layer of the world. What secrets they hide are yours to discover.

The Umbral Blight

Not all that slumbers below rests in peace. The baleful light of Umbris awakens the bones of the ancient dead. Outbreaks of Cyst swell from the Roots to spawn countless malignant horrors. The sins of the past stalk the ruins, manifest nightmares of the Elder Days. And in the unfathomable dark lurks the Wyrm of Oroboron, ever writhing, ever gnawing.

Forge your Legacy

Fortune's siren song may have led you to the forest, but only you can decide what your ambitions truly are. Will you be content to plunder for fame and riches? To rise from your common station to play upon the lordly stage? Or will you dare to face the threats that overshadow the petty concerns of kings? To champion the Light herself? Your story is yours to tell.

Adventurers

Countless mercenaries now journey to explore the Lorewood. Those seeking lordly coin come from all walks of life, and all shapes and sizes!

Humans - The vales of the West are home to the many human kingdoms surrounding the Lorewood. The Age of Lords is rife with conflict gilded in pageantry. In an effort to secure advantage, they seek to plunder the ruins of ancient Valora.

Varmin - For every Human city a network of warrens lies below. The fractured Varmin clans may not partake in the national theatre above, but below their mercantile enterprises grow fat on war. Those delving the Underrealms would do well to employ a Varmin guide.

Ogres - The Ogre Kingdoms of the distant tundra have long traded arms to the warring kingdoms of the West. Ogre craftsminship is well valued by those that brave the dangers of the Lorewood, as is their strength. Should any of the Ogre Kings find the lost art of magic iron, their power would threaten the combined might of the West.

Fairies - The tiny pixies and sprites native to the Lorewood do not appreciate the clumsy giants that have invaded their home. Tenuous treaties have quelled their aggression. Failure to respect their terms could incite their fury once more.

Armin - Once thought lost to time, these green goblins have resurfaced from deep within the earth. Most are jovial little warriors and keen to help.
